A idle question to those who know (and care to answer)...

While looking at radiosit.c I discovered the keyword "sigmoid_method" commented
out and seemingly an alternative to the currently used saw_method.
This got me curious, but since my knowledge of C and radiosity functions is poor
(OK, non-existent) I'd rather ask from those who know better.
So, what is this sigmoid_method? Has anybody tried it? How does it differ from
the saw_method? And why is it commented out in the source?
