Has anyone successfully compiled POV-Ray for Digital UNIX 4.0?

I have tried, but without much success. The compilation hangs with:
"Don't know how to make BezierDEP"

Any ideas?

Thanks

Every time I compile povray on unix, I have to fix the makefile. I don't
know why there's this silly "bug", but it's there. There's one line ending
with the character \ which shouldn't. If you browse the makefile you will
see it (I don't have the makefile right now, so I can't tell the exact line,
but it's really easy to see the buggy line since it differs from the other
lines of the same kind).
  Maybe that's your problem.
I wonder why I haven't heard anyone complaining about this.

Probably because it works fine on some machines and/or with other versions
of make. For example I can compile it smoothly without removing this
obviously wrong \.
