In a manner similar to recent changes to the brick pattern, the leopard 
pattern was re-written in yuqk to support an 'ip_form' keyword for more 
control over how the pattern is generated.

Where one or two vector components are zero, the return values are more 
reliably in the 0 to 1 range (The pattern still squares internally so 
the value change is not linear).

The pattern's behavior is identical if the ip_form vector is left at the 
default of <1,1,1>.

In the attached image using the leopard pattern on a squished sphere 
(Go, go-ishi like shape).

Upper left uses the traditional pattern - which takes on different looks 
depending upon where in the pattern the surface exists.

Upper right uses 'ip_form <1,1,0>'.

Lower left uses 'ip_form <1,4,0>'.

Lower right uses 'ip_form <pi,0,tau>'.
