The blend_modes 4 and 5 were added to the yuqk fork with a set of
possible applications in mind. Blend mode 5, with blend_gamma settings
larger than one, uses only the middle of the interpolation segments in a
map. This capability can be used to define specific colors in media
aligning in some aspect with functions or patterns.
Given the recent mention of using media to represent probabilities(a), I
worked up an initial set of media examples related to media in general
and 'blend_mode 5' which will ship in R13 of the yuqk fork.

and lower right sub-images.
Oh! Despite what the header says in blend_mode_5_06.pov, the attached
version was changed to use the emission media for performance over any
of the scattering media options.
Versions of the techniques used here can probably be implemented in
official POV-Ray releases, but I believe much less easily, if so.

(a) Don't forget .df3 density files for this sort of application. Using
multiple colors for probabilities a little problematic too given the
differing intensities of the colors themselves - without normalization(s).
