It would be good if the next POV version could make full use of the new
taskbar features in Windows 7 (and Windows 8 I assume). It could show
the render progress (like Chrome shows download progress), show a
thumbnail of the render rather the code editor (if a render is in
progress), and provide pause/resume and stop buttons in the thumbnail.

Regarding the POVRay for Windows GUI, it's probably moot at this point
to look at the existing one and suggest changes to it. The GUI needs a
major rewrite anyway due to licensing issues (POV-Ray is going GPL, but
the text editor component is a no-go for that), so we may be seeing a
totally different animal in the future.

I suggested this a few years ago. The response I got was that it would
consume too many CPU resources.
You'd think that constantly switching back and forth between different
windows to check on the progress would use a lot more CPU time. But
whatever.
