Heyas!

Been a while since I've posted anything, but just thought of popping by and
informing all's good here and still POVing on a weekly basis. :)

The reasons for my inactivity are many, from buying a house last autumn with my
wife to a new position at work (and loads of new systems and processes to be
learned on a rather tight schedule there), and pretty much all energy and time
left has gone into music and coding my game.

For the music part, I've now got 2 game soundtracks finished for my projects. 24
songs done so far, and here's the link if someone's interested in checking out
some minimalistic synthscapes:

The game itself is building up nicely. I'm working on the 7th level at the
moment, out of 20 levels in total in the final game. I took my blog down to
private view only for the time being, but will have it back up later when the
game is closer to finished. All music, graphics and story are done, and now
baking in the level narratives and puzzles. Sadly no official demo available for
now, but I can send the link to my development version in my dropbox directly by
email if someone is interested in testing out stuff I've made so far. :)

Catch you all later, gotta post some new POV images at some point again, and
will spy on threads and hopefully find something I'd dare to comment on too. I
do that way too rarely in general, heh. :D

Cheers and stay safe! :)

Well it sounds like you have been busy indeed!

Glad to hear that you are having a lot of progress and successes - it's great
that you've managed to make time for the music and game development.

You should have sent an update earlier - my son _just_ got done with his spring
school break - I could have had him play-test the game while he was on
vacation...

Would love to see what new developments you've made. Send a link and will get
it onto a windows machine. :)

Life is too rich and vibrant to be "safe" ;)

All the best,

- Bill

Hehe, actually I've been rather busy with creating and adjusting characters for
my weird space rooster game this whole time. :D

With the other game project I'm kinda stuck in a phase where I've got loads of
renders, but the actual story is rather short compared to how much content the
rooster game will have. The concept is a bit scattered all over the place (in my
mind and notes), and there's still a lot of brainstorming to be done for getting
a sensible and coherent experience. In any case I'll get back to my tentacle
alien creatures at some point again, no worries. :)

Hopefully great, yeh. :D

I've been working on rather basic CSG operations recently, partly as it's a
quick way for me to create and deal with, and also partly as my game will reach
out for certain late 80's / early 90's vibes, so I've been keeping my newest
renders intentionally minimal, almost naivistic in a way, while attempting to
capture some of the atmosphere from those eras. :)

I have to admit it's been quite a ride. Work, house, projects, kung fu training
(private lessons, as normal training on hold due to covid-19), this whole
pandemic thing and on top my personal mental struggles (depression through my
whole adult life, doing MUCH better these days though). Projects and exercise
keep me going, so putting my all on those always when possible. :)

Ah, that would have been cool. :O

Then again, since the early demo, the game has gone through a lot of bug fixes
and general improvements, so first now I'm finally starting to get there in
having a solid, stable and working version at hands. Ofc it still lacks over
half of the content, but the framework is there to be built upon, and many nice
new features have been added, for example save/resume/restart game, replay
level, tutorial and so on.

I'll send the link via email, as it's not a public version just yet. :)

Yeah, it's a weird expression that many told me especially throughout last year,
so had it stuck in my head from there. I guess no-one is really actually "safe"
in this wacky and/or wicked world. :D

All the best too!
