Interesting tidbit: Because the Earth is moving at a certain speed
with respect to the rest of the universe, and because the Sun is
moving at an even greater speed, and because our galaxy is moving at
an even greater speed still, this causes redshift and blueshift in
the measurement of the cosmic background radiation, it has to be
compensated for when evaluating such data in order to get an accurate
picture. Else half of the picture would be greatly blue-shifted while
the other is red-shifted (with a smooth transition between them).
