Hi folks,
since I use a portable machine, overnight rendering seems to be impossible. It
is due to my tom-cat, "Snoopy" by name, which is a very small cat having only 9
kg of weight. It is addicted to the warmth of the fan and filles the holes of
the exhaust completelly and I fear a heat accumulation. Has someone else of you
experierenced the same? ;-)

Nope, I don't have a cat. But while it's winter rendering costs me
nothing* so I'm happy to help, if you happen to need assistance on a
long trace.
*) My heating system is so called straight electric and doesn't know if
it's the heater or my CPU that gives the thermal energy to the air.

Thanks for your kind offer. Fortunatelly the little beast is addicted to another
place too: its feeding bowl. 9 kg of living weight will be maintained...

I would suggest getting a 2nd cat ;-) Then they could keep *each other* warm!
My own cats have an interesting tendency to jump up on my keyboard while I'm
typing--usually when I'm deep into editing a POV-Ray scene. Is there a menu
choice for "delete recent cat editing"? :-P

Depending on which editor you're using, CTRL-Z commonly will work. ;)

They must like each other. In fact we have three of the little beasts.

Yes, that's exactly what Snoopy and Puenktchen (engl: dotty) do, but
fortunatelly not to much extend. As I remember the first keyboard locks were
called "catlocks" for some reason... A while I had a touch screen which was more
annoying, since even flies made their entries (mainly closing windows - and
programs) and the tails of the cats, of course. CTRL-Z will not help with this
but CTRL-S as prophylaxis. So I'm accustomed to hit CTRL-S time and again as a
train-driver hitting his dead man's switch;-)

*Only* 9 kgs? If this is a small cat, what do you regard a medium-sized
or even big one? A lynx? A snow leopard? They look cuddly, but probably
are a little oversized to easily handle them...

Since you use a portable machine, move that machine to someplace the cat
can't go.
