Don't you find it hard to diverge your eyes? I find the cross-eye ones
much easier to see.

huh? I do cross my eyes. I see them from quite away, relax my eyes at the
center of the image and soon enough they naturally converge.
the focal point of both cameras is the center apple... I also find the DOF
version easier in the eyes... :)

That's diverging your eyes. Your left eye ends up looking at the left
image and your right eye at the right image. If you cross your eyes,
your right eye looks at the left image and your left eye at the right
image. This is a lot easier for me, but probably more difficult for some
people.

From my experience in 3D graphics class (back when "3D graphics" was line
drawings with pen plotters and clipping textures to polygons was pretty
cutting edge), I remember that many more people could do the cross-eyed
rather than the divergent. I'd say 4 or 5 to 1, at least.

I see what you mean now! I've been doing it wrong all along! o_0 well, perhaps
not for all people.
Here's the correct cross-eyes one, which is just the former image with the 2
images changed place:

It forms just so much more naturally on the eyes! o_O

Ah, much better. The funny thing is, if you look cross-eyed at the original
version, your brain goes "there's something very wrong here" but it's really
hard to tell what.

yes! It was as if you were looking cross-eyed at a a real-life scene... :P
