Brilliant!

It may support my idea that the crow in my neighbourhood is an ex-pet 
too. It does not caw but produces a long, high hoot.

It does. A bit sad really as I generally hear them cawing between 
couples with one giving between 1 and 3 caws and the other answering 
with the same number.
