I had hoped that using CIELCH I could pick a value for L and a value for 
C, and then have a nice range of Hues to choose from to create a hue 
circle with equal lightness and saturation.

Unfortunately, this is only possible for very low values of Chroma. I 
could not find any such colors above a value of 40 that did not start 
expanding outside the sRGB gamut.

Which sucks.

When I'm not busy programming colour management stuff for POV-Ray, I'm
actually quite happy to just go with "it's complicated" :P
