... and neither did the phisher.

I'm typing this slowly so you'll understand:

If you're pretending to be Halifax, why would you redirect to a British
Telecom site?

The phisher has been awarded the Golden D'oh! for 2015. (((8(|)

The name of the company in the e-mail and the one at the phishing site
don't match.

I have similar e-mails at the moment, they all mention various financial
institutions and are all signed "Charles Sirois, CEO of [insitution in
question]"

1. This would work better if I didn't get three of them at the same time...
2. This guy, while a known name in these parts, isn't the CEO of any of
those banks. He used to own a telco, before turning politician.

This might actually be intentional: It automatically reduces responses
to those of the most gullible people, to maximise yield in the later
stages of the fraud.

I find the most hilarious the fact that a phishing mail warns for
phishing of its own phishing. If on purpose, then those guys have a
(particular) sense of humour, if not, they are plain stupid. :-)
