no problems here (tested with two of the applets)

I had to enable the plugin and restart firefox, but it seems to work now.

OK, so it's just my PC that's busted then. Time to investigate...

Works for me on my old Windows XP machine--but I first had to download the Java
Runtime Environment for Firefox (which I didn't know I didn't have!)

Very cool! Thanks for the link.

Yeah, Mr Falstad has done some incredibly entertaining stuff here. It's
just a pity most of it seems to have been written in 1997 or so, when
running compute-heavy stuff in Java was so slow that everybody designed
stuff to run at really low resolutions. But anyway, gold none the less.

On closer inspection, Firefox has disabled the Java plugin "due to
serious security issues", whatever that means. Now I just need to figure
out how the hell to fix that...

FF 17.0.1 works for me.

Also, you can scale the applet.

Apparently, just install a newer version of Java. Go figure.

Yeah, that's the version I have too.

I do remember reading some kind of warning or caveat when I installed an earlier
version (16.xxx?), mentioning that the Java Runtime download was disabled at
that point, for security reasons or incompatibility. (That's probably why I
didn't have it on my own system.) I guess everything gets along together nicely
now.

That's simply because Mozilla's a little anal retentive when it comes to
plugin compatibility, not due to any actual incompatibility.

This being said, there were serious security issues a while back with
java 1.6, so it's possible that recent versions of FF may disable a
vulnerable java version.
