In the US a block is about one tenth of a mile.

Normal walking pace for adults is 15 to twenty minutes per mile, so
you'll make the walk in 45-60 minutes.

In Salt Lake City, it's 0.15-0.16 mile. The distance from 3300 south to
4500 south (12 blocks) is 1.7 miles.
So not really standardized here either.
