Making a movie from still : install kdenlive (not a kde application, you
can use it with gnome too).

First find out what the resoltion & frame rate (as well as encoding) for
youtube (see their recommended...)

In kdenlive:
 1. Create a project with that settings.
 2. Put (drag & drop) your source material (pictures & sound) in the
left upper box (project tree)
 3. Drag the pictures on the video tracks, and the sound on the audio
tracks... adjust duration as desired.
 4. Render as a file.

Upload on your youtube...
