You'll learn much more that way than if you were the best in the class :-)

You'd think so, wouldn't you? It does not necessarily follow though. ;-)
I actually go to *three* Rock & Roll classes per week currently. One is
for beginners, one for improvers and the other is the top class.
(Nominally it's "intermediate", but the school doesn't currently have an
"advanced" class in the R&R category, so...) You'd be surprised how much
you pick up from the lower classes.
Even still, the top class has some amazing dancers in it, and they still
get stuff wrong. (Especially when we're just practise-dancing rather
than real-dancing, which is basically what happens in class.)
Personally, I would just feel happier if I wasn't the *bottom* of the
class. Somewhere in the middle would be fine. I don't mind not being
top. But I'm not keen on being bottom...

Just to explain a few things:
"Bronze" is the level of the exam. You have to take your Bronze exam
before they let you take your Silver exam. (Although people can and do
take both exams on the very same day.) To give you some idea, the IDTA
exam grades are:
- Bronze
- Silver
- Gold
- First Gold Bar
- Second Gold Bar
- Third Gold Bar
- First Star
- Second Star
- Third Star
- Forth Star
- Fifth Star
- I don't even know what the hell level comes next, but there *are* even
more after this...
I find it amusing that none of this information is available from the
IDTA website.

Very nice, very nice. Congrats!
You'll have to improve your photoshop skills before you can enter that into
worth1000.com, tho. ;-)
As for teaching of dancing, it doesn't actually say you can't teach dancing.
It just says the certificate doesn't authorize you to do so.

Thanks. :-)
It still amuses me that this is an exam I *enjoyed* doing and I'm
looking forward to doing more. It's like, this is my little moment on
stage, as it were.

Actually the GIMP. (It probably says so in the EXIF tags...) But anyway,
yeah. Hell, it's not even a good photo. (I should probably have scanned
it instead. I couldn't be bothered to set up mum's scanner.)

Quite right. Because, let's face it, you *know* some sharleton somewhere
has tried that one, right? Take an entry-level dance exam and then claim
to be a certified IDTA teacher.

Heh. Maybe.
I came home one day and my dad asked what I learned in class today. I
said "Today we learned the Neck Breaker." He looked as me and asked
whether I was learning Rock & Roll or Kung Fu...

Hahaha...
...eewww.
