It has been quiet today - guess everyone's doing other things today. I
spent some time doing recovery on a dying 1 TB hard drive (hateful) and
assembling furniture from Ikea.

Let it stay that way for a while, makes me waste less time reading
newsgroups... I'd complain more when there are 200 posts a day :)

But of course if you complained more when there's 200 posts a day, then
there would be more than 200 posts a day. :-)

So you basically spent the day tracking down that one missing bolt that
they forgot to include in the factory? :D

Oh, I wish it were that simple. :-)
Unfortunately, I then had a second hardware failure last night - one of
my UPS' died. It's not been a good hardware month for me.

Hopefully nobody fumbled a save the way Green did in the US/England match
last weekend. :-)

Last episode of Doctor Who next Saturday. Probably won't cheer anyone

No big deal, for me. I stopped watching it after Peter Davidson (the 5th
Doctor) regenerated into the nasty accountant from “The Brothers”. </End

*Davison.
And the second Baker only lasted a couple of years due to upheavals at the beeb
and the fact that he wasn't very good. I quite like the current chap though.
First time he's really seemed like an alien since the 7th.

Golly gosh! You're right. I've been calling him that since he was in All

You should see my wife's attempts at furniture assembly. The diagrams
rarely depict clearly what should be happening. If you don't have
experience with Build-it-yourself furniture, the task can be daunting.
It took my wife an afternoon to assemble a night stand. In the same
amount of time I put together and installed 3 pieces of a modular
shelving/cabinet system.

The only thing about this nightstand that was odd was that they showed
the lock bolts facing outward on the back; I assembled that bit
backwards, didn't seem to make a difference, and I think it looks
better. :-) (Not that it matters much, that side is against a wall)
I'll probably find out later that doing it that way means the whole thing
will fall apart because I can't tighten them easily.
