apparently a lot of people don't understand that the blurring is the
essence of Aero Glass. Without blurring, it's just like any other (and
imho unusable) transparency.

I never really noticed the blurring before, but it makes things look very
confusing without it.

I had noticed the lack of blurring. They also lack the white fog around the
title bar text that makes it readable regardless of background or window
decoration color.
MS definitely does the details of UIs pretty well.
