Careful, they standardised their spelling long before we did...

I myself try to use British spellings as a pretentious affectation.

The problem?  I don't know which words are in fact supposed to use 'z' 
after all, and various other differences with which I'm not familiar.

And I do now mostly out of habit because I have many friends in the UK.  
When I'm creating mailings to go to a global or US-only audience, I find 
I have to "Americanise" my spellings after I've finished writing the copy.
