Indeed. That would be quite exactly what I'd be aiming for, too - if I
had any talent and the necessary patience...
... so I rather wait hours for a 3D render to finish :-P

BTW, yes, that's a common technique for getting precise curves.
Everybody has their best hand positioning for drawing precise curves.
Didn't thought of that with a tablet. It indeed feels a bit awkward to
not have this possibility in Gimp so far, but I've managed to simply do
everything on the wrist movement alone.

What I do is detach the Image> Transform menu to keep it around as a
rotate palette. You only get 90, 180, & 270 degrees, but it's enough :\
