False.
Everybody who's bothered to get to know me apparently really likes me.
And yet, girls ignore me.
Marcus, on the other hand, is an arsehole. And girls really like him.

Well, apparently not, as several commented on your calendars and casual
Friday approach at work.

For every one he goes out with, there's probably a dozen who are thinking
"what a tosser".

Guess it's perfectly acceptable to be an arsehole if you got a car and
plenty of greenies.

Thanks, That surely can boost people's confidence! ;)
But yes, yes they are. Just not those women I am attracted to. The hard
thing in finding attraction is finding a 2-way attraction.

My guess that men who attract the ladies also tend to be hostile to
potential rivals, which is why they end up looking like a**holes to those
rivals in question. The ladies themselves probably see a rather different
side of the guy.

Or rather, they look like a**holes to those rivals who are unable to attract
women, precisely because of their success (ie jealousy). Or, men who are
successful with ladies get a self-esteem boost that makes them look like
a**holes. Or, it's actually the machismo that attracts ladies (if a woman
tells you that you are sweet and sensitive, for instance, she doesn't see
you as a man, which may be ok after you are married, but not before). Or
it's a combination of all of the above (and below).

You need a wingman. Hell, if I can't seem to have any luck with the
ladies, I'll call up a certain girl I know and ask her to go drinking
with me. She flirts with the ladies even more than I do, and somehow it
seems to rub off on me and I end up with a couple of numbers... ;)
You know, I'd love to get the chance to go pub crawling with you. I bet
you'd be a lot of fun to hang out with IRL :)

That's great :)
Not quite like that, though. I honestly think it's just her confidence
that rubs off on me, and that seems to do the trick.

Oh, sure. Women who are married with children sometimes *talk* to me.
Women twice my age say I'm a nice guy. But cute, sexy, *single* girls
who I could actually go out with? They ignore me.

That seems to be what it comes down to. Girls only go for confident
guys. And since I'm never going to be confident... well, it's basically

Face it, I've never seen a guy pull a girl in my entire life. (Except on

it's supposed to work.

Heh, well, maybe. I've yet to find a pub that has any female people in

Part of it's picking the right pub, part is picking the right time.

I've never been drunk in my life - but if I was, I suspect I'd be one of

I would suggest that part is finding somebody who knows the area, or at
least knows what they're looking for...

Come to Oktoberfest here in Munich, plenty of hot single girls from all over
the place and very easy to get hooked up with groups of people because of
the proximity and beer :-D I guarantee after 30 mins or so you will know
everyone else on your table, and probably the tables around you. Plan a
trip with a few of your friends if you don't feel like going alone. And
don't give me any crap about not liking beer, get some German beer from the
supermarket (it's better tasting anyway) and practise, it will be worth it.

How come shy and self-deprecating people haven't removed themselves from
the gene pool long time ago? One would think that by now *all* men would

Maybe it's not entirely genetic.
It's also possibly that having two K genes makes you aggressive, and
having two J genes makes you aggressive, but having one of each makes
you shy. In that case, the trait will never die out.
Genetics is weird...

Some girls go for foreign guys.

Probably. Time to turn off the pedophile mode, my friend, and start
looking for a real woman :)

Heh. I can assure you, *no* girls go for me. (But apparently gay guys do...)

Apparently me ability to determine age is severely flawed.

God damnit, I hate being old. :-(
I guess this is what you get for wasting your life...

As Stephen said, you live in too small a town. When I got married, I was
shy and didn't even do the things you do. Hell, I used to go down to a
radio station and stand in the broadcast booth with a microphone and I
wouldn't speak - I was known as "Jim the Mime". Seriously. That's how
shy I was when I met my wife.

Um, we've had this discussion before about this faulty set logic. I
don't think you're a tosser, I'm a member of "everybody", therefore .....

Heh heh heh.
Eurodisney: "Hey, that castle? You might want to make it a bit bigger. We
have real ones here."

It's a relative measure. The bottom 10%, no matter how self-confident, will
have troubles.
Lots of animals will just give up in a hopeless situation, too.

Getting the *women* drunk does wonders for their perception of your self
esteem too.

Not sure how to do that, but... nice idea.
