The best decision this guy ever made was to go to Europe--AND turn his cell
phone off.

His worst decision is to turn it into a 10-minute multi-megabyte video of
text with annoying (and probably stolen) background music, rather than a 1K
text file you could read in under a minute. </rant>

My thoughts exactly! I was expecting at least a recorded phone call at the
end or something.

Sorry, but I just can't imagine if you told someone like your gf (not just
some random person) that you are going away for 2 weeks they don't remember.
I mean wouldn't he be talking about it and his plans with her for pretty
much the whole time before he left? And secondly, who the hell goes away
for 2 weeks and doesn't even attempt to contact his gf just to say hi or
whatever.

Did anyone else reach the conclusion that maybe he's much better this way?

I wish him luck in finding a gf that will tolerate not being contacted for
two weeks :-)

Yeah, but, you would have thought if you *told* this person you would be
gone for 2 weeks, they wouldn't go insane at you when you're away for
two weeks...
(I was about to say "yeah, I would have called sometime though", except
that if I ever had a girlfriend, I'd probably never travel more than
about 100 miles from wherever she is...)

It's obvious from her emails she had no clue where he was, wouldn't you have
talked about your trip with your girlfriend all the time before you left?
Something doesn't make sense.
