I may have some to spare in a few weeks, so since you are not selling 
nothing are you accepting donations? I couldn't find any links on the 
website about it. IMO would be only fair if you could receive donations, 
I really don't think if you go donationware you would be hurting POV-Ray 
in anyway AFAIK.

Can't speak for the team, but the question had come up some times 
before. There used to be the option of buying a pov key and of buying 
IRTC CD's. Which the death of the IRTC as we knew it that is probably 
not an option.

Sometimes Chris needs some things for the server, like a new hard disk 
or so. He announces that and someone in the POV community takes care of 
that.

I think that in general POV's interests is best served if you make great 
images and spread the word.
