Can someone explain to me why any browser "vendor" cares that IE is bundled?
Firefox doesn't advertise at me nor cost money to buy or use, and AFAIK
neither does Chrome. So what does Google (for example) get out of forcing MS
to not put IE icons on the desktop? Is there a competitive advantage to
google by having customers using firefox instead of IE? Or is it just
trying to cost Microsoft money that's the advantage?

Why? That's my question. What's in chrome that benefits Google? Isn't google
going to have to support IE anyway?

Firefox comes with a Google search bar as well. OTOH, if I'm not wrong, IE7 is
using such a search bar as well and Google is in there!
It used to be a complaint because IE would not adhere to W3C standards, but this
is not the case anymore. At least while they try to convince consumers and the
EU that they are not the monopolistic bastard they used to be.

I heard somewhere that even the latest IE doesn't support CSS to the
same extent as other browsers, but that might just have been badmouthing.
