A little late, I know, but I thought it was cool.  I had no idea you could do
this kind of thing.  It uses about 170% cpu power on a Core 2 Duo.  Does that
mean it even parallelizes it?  Either that or there's just a whole lot of
overhead for display or something.  I make a couple OpenGL demos just like
this.  To help with numerical dissipation, I used one channel to advect an
x-coordinate and another for the y-coordinate.  Then you interpolate a texture
and -- voila! -- you can mess with a photo of your favorite professor / boss.
