Coming back from Nevada, I did indeed wind up going thru an "agricultural
inspection" station. But it was dozens of miles inside the border. And they
didn't appear to actually be stopping anyone. (Maybe they only stopped trucks?)
In any case, I don't think they get to deny you entry or to tax you on
possessions.
