My dad just bought himself a Stylophone:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stylophone

It sounds... well, fairly irritating, actually. But it's amusing to make
music out of it, for the same reasons that the Kazoo Keylelle is
amusing. Somebody about the absurdity of it appeals to me.

It also reminds me that I sometimes wish there was a small portable
keyboard device that I could use to demonstrate my playing prowess at
random occasions. Perhaps I should design something...

Being told that Andrew's dad bought a Stylophone is bad, but then having
you link the sound of the d*mned thing is a thousand times worse.
Repeat after me:
	Mea culpa, mea culpa
	Mea maxima culpa

One thousand years in purgatory or a pint of foaming ale as a penance;
your choice :-)

Je sais que c'est interdit
Je suis folle, je m'abandonne

Something like this, perhaps:

http://www.buyrolluppiano.com/

And then there's always this:

But it's a little bigger and a bit less portable.

Hmm, interesting. I think I remember seeing a roll-up keyboard in
Maplin. (It's unclear whether this is just a USB keyboard or actually
includes sound generating capabilities as well...)

Ah, here we go:

http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=221630

Still unclear whether it has speakers...

This is the antithesis of portability! o_O

However, the other day my dad did specifically ask me what Widor's
Toccata would sound like on this instrument - and how many people it
would take to play! ;-)

It might sound good, but I can almost guarantee it would look quite
silly. I can see it in my mind's eye: a line of ten women and men in
formal wear all frantic and sweaty in front of a slack-jawed audience.
