I was thinking to close the aperture a bit. That bright of a day, I
didn't think that opening the aperture would leave any room at the flash
sync to get any light without seeing the shutter. Guess with that bright
of a pic with that much in focus it has to be a pretty small aperture
already, but I wasn't going that far with my thoughts yet.
I just graduated from a camera with a max sync speed of 1/64, I'm still
not used to digital cameras going up to 1/4000.

That's a domain? It doesn't even appear to parse...

I thought the same as you but Scott's view is just as valid IMO.
But why listen to me when yesterday I made the most basic mistake in
the book. I was going to the library when I saw a young woman taking
her pet iguana for a walk. You see some strange sights in London but
I've never seen an iguana on a leash walking down the pavement. So I
grabbed my phone and took a picture. I was shooting into the sun
(mistake #1) so I could not see the screen and shot it blind. When I
looked at the picture I had a lovely shot of my finger. <garn> That's
why I preferred darkroom work to actually taking pictures. :(

I have a hard time picturing your hair any other way. For me it
communicated your personality pretty well. Smart, youthful, edgy.
Which reminds me, I don't think I emailed you

Would like that, yes. Can't believe my camera was out of juice that
day. Actually I think my brain was out of juice too.
PS Y'know what? Now I think my new laptop has that virus thingy you
helped me with. :( Know anything about reinstalling Vista?

The USB cable went missing, and I haven't needed a CF card reader for
ages. All of the lens and bags got shuffled for the train, then for the
drive from the station back home.

That sucks. Kinkos or equivalent?
Note to self: "don't loose the USB"...which would be very easy in my
apartment,...with the cat that steals things...where is the cat,
anyway... ... ...

Yeah. The funky thing is when the camera has USB, but a non-standard
connector at the camera end, so you can't just replace the cable with
one from Radio Shack. The b______ds. :-)
