If you have a website, and you're using CSS, *remove it* today!

http://naked.dustindiaz.com/

"The idea behind this event is to promote Web Standards. Plain and
simple. This includes proper use of (x)html, semantic markup, a good
hierarchy structure, and of course, a good 'ol play on words. It's time
to show off your <body>."

"On April 9th, simply remove all CSS from your website, stripping it
entirely of its design."

I fail to understand how removing CSS promotes web standards.

Those with table layouts and <font> won't notice the difference removing
whatever little CSS they have.

If your site is *impossible* to navigate if CSS is turned off (or if
navigating with lynx ;) ), shows you're doing it wrong.

In theory, you should be able to replace someone else's CSS with your
own and still be able to use the site. E.g., for printing, screen
reading, etc. If your site breaks horribly when you take out the CSS,
it's like a document that becomes unreadable if it's all in the same font.

(Which I guess some math textbooks would fall under...) :-)

Woah... I was thinking about CounterStrike: Source, the FPS computer
game. And, uh, naked would be... a whole new world of uglyness!

31337!

In this Internet age, silly little insider jokes seem to somehow
magically transform into global phenominons. I think we need a little
more sanity in this world. ;-)

Bah. I am more interesting in, "National Nude Day", but sadly Congress
doesn't seem to know it exists or won't pass legislation for it. ;) lol

Don't be absurd. The *only* people willing to get naked in public are
the ones you make you feel ill every time you look at them. EEEWWW!! >_<
