Do not uninstall your DVD device driver in Windows while you are in the
process of burning a DVD. It makes Windows ... sad. Or should I say, blue?

you know, I enjoy bashing Windows as much as the next guy, but this was really
awful...
Why in hell would anyone do that anyway?!

Why would anyone even want to do that? (In fact, why would anyone want
to uninstall the DVD device driver at all, regardless of the situation?)

What kind of DVD drive requires a specific device driver?

I imagine the DVD you were burning doesn't come off too well either.

Inquiring minds want to know ...
Then again, I did manage to blue screen WinXP yesterday purely by
accident. Create enough .NET controls with a size of
(Int.MaxValue,Int.MaxValue) and it'll eventually blue screen somewhere
in the video driver.
Please don't ask how I managed this. Suffice it to say, I had a gross
misunderstanding of the documentation for the GetPreferredSize function.

Come clean, Darren. Exactly why did you do that?

I had the impression that a user did that, and that Darren was fixing it?

Yes, don't. ;)
And also, don't stand under the branch you're cutting springs to mind
too.
