Actually, I hadn't noticed that the Relto island was shaped like Myst
island until I found the page that put the clock on the little rock down
at the south end. Then, of course, the other Relto pages clicked.

Hey y'all Myst fans, has nobody yet thought of a POV-Ray-rendered
Myst-like game?
Would be an interesting "community project", and would contribute
objects to the official collection for sure :)

It's come up several times. I did one myself, sorta. Or at least the
start of one. Someone else put together a handful of views, I did a web
site with a walk-through of the first few floors of a (fairly
unimaginative) castle before I ran down...
[The castle was really done for the point of building the POV-ray
SDL-generating code, not because I particularly wanted to do something
with the castle when I was done. Go find "LOME" on sourceforge if
you're actually interested.]

I have a half-assed Myst-like game engine. Somewhere; probably on the
computer currently in for service. Written in C++ (or was it plain C?)
and using SDL (that's Simple Directmedia Layer, not the SDL we're used
to). I dropped it before getting videos to work correctly...
