- A large green coat.
- A small brown jacket.
- A box of scissors. (Are you worried yet?)
- A brick of chocolate.
- A book about learning to play guitar.
- A matching DVD.
- A book of reference drawings.
- A TomTom carry case. (Hmm, interesting.)
- A set of pencils.
(Hey, it's like the conveyer belt round from the Generation Game in
here! Where's the cuddly toy?)
- A set of charcole and pastels.
- A carry bag.
- A TomTom. (Wahey!)
- A working watch.
- A pair of computer games who's names escape me now...
- A digital video camera. (!!)

Let us not enumerate the multiplicity of cakes and confections consumed.
(Although in truth, the meals alone were enough to fell an ox...)

One (1) count US$50. To be deposited in my bank hopefully on the
morrow. Ridiculous Monopoly-money looking thing.

For Christmas and Sinterklaas combined:
- 24 DVD box of David Attenborough, the complete life series
- The Blue Planet/Planet Earth DVD's
- Some CD's (Joni Mitchell, Katie Melua, Celtic Woman, Hayley Westenra)
- What the bleep do we know (A book based partly on some misconceptions
of quantum mechanics, not an easy read for a physicist)
- some chocolate letters
- book on pottery
- some small things that currently escape me

Let me see...

From my grandparents (both sides) some money: For years now I've never
offered a wish they might fulfill, so I get money in order to fulfill a
wish whenever one comes up. Not that bad considering that I recently
bought a Laptop and then got sick and couldn't work for just about two
months now.

From my Dad: A book and a "Get one wish free"-Card. Again, I didn't
express anything I'd like to have, so he didn't know what to get me.

From my younger brother: A chemistry set (usally for kids age 12 or so)
to grow some crystals. Nice idea. :-)

From my older brother: Nothing, he's got no money and is basically
living off welfare.

From my oldest brother: An invititation to go bowling and spend the
night, watching a Blu-Ray Movie. I'm a movie geek, so that's nice. :-)

From my best friend: She got me the book "Rumo - Wonders in the Dark",
which is actually a german book called "Rumo : Die Wunder im Dunkeln",
was written by the german author Walter Moers, whom I've grown to like
(at least the stories taking place in his imaginative and hilarious
world of Zamonien).

From my mom: Nothing, so far, but just now I'm figuring that I should
call her. I was a little stressed with university, work, sickness and
preparations, so that kinda slipped my mind... I'll get to it now!

Regards,
Tim

Last toaster started emitting smoke. That was after the racks stopped
working, and the dial stopped adjusting how dark the toast got. It
really was time for a new one.

The kind for the kitchen. Not the kind for display in the living room or

Living room knife displays are something I would have had to pick out,
not something someone could have given me as a gift. ;-)

Oh! So that's what it means. I must get a new one then :)

BTW No one mentions a 4 day stay in hospital without wanting to talk about it.

You can tell me I'm a first aider and a sympathetic listener. All in the
strictest confidence, you understand. :)

I hope that it wasn't too serious. No one likes a visit there especially not at
Christmas time.

Indeed. I visited hospital once, and it was miserable. And I was only in
there for about 20 minutes. Went to visit my mum. Not sure why we
bothered though... she was so totally out of it.

They gave her a box with a button on it. When you press the button, it
injects morphine into the drip. She had her thumb pressed down on that
button continuously, with a vice-like grip. [Obviously, the machine cuts
out once the maximum dose is reached. I doubt my mum would have
understood such a concept at that moment...]

Nothing wrong with hospitals. I do sometimes three in one day.
Last august when I had overstretched my ankle I had to stay at home for
nearly two weeks. I was really glad to be recovered enough to go to the
hospital again. But I guess that does not count ;)

Yeah they do, when it's people who have spent enough time in and out of
hospitals that it really is just another way to spend a weekend. I
forget that humor doesn't translate all that well to the internet at large.

For comparison, my extended family's response was, "Well, I hope they

Hmm, strictest confidence on public usenet that gets picked up by
google? Our definitions differ some where. Even medical latin would
indexable, and really out of place in this group.

Oh, I could describe my stay in pov code, that would work!

You know, all the times I asked for a pony, a baby brother, and a race
car, I figured it was just to pad my list to make the other stuff look

Oh! Dear, I recognise the above. Still I hope you got Xmas carols and icing
sugar on your meds. It is hard to be jolly when you're sick and I hope that

Thanks to an animal rescue center in central Florida, we do. The
adoption fee was only $55. The pen to put the horse into cost over $900.

My windows are all at ground level. That's the down side of basement
apartments, when machinery needs 'testing' it's really hard to justify
being on the roof.

Thanks for the sentiment, though.

Dear lord, no! Now, hot apple cider, once I'm better, is completely
different.

Seconded, may the New Year bring everyone more, or less as they wish,
interesting times, more good and less bad then the year before.

Yes and a sympathetic family.
Locked up with Pov and broadband I could handle that for a decade or two.

It's not feature creep if you put it
at the end and adjust the release date.

Mmm port. I had never tried it until this summer when I went to california
for vacation. We had some at a biodynamic vineyard. It knocked my socks off
it was so good.

"The Family Guy" volumes 2, 3 and 4 DVDs
The first 3 Harry Potter books.
Guitar Hero 3, for the Wii (surprisingly fun, and something I never would
have bought myself)
Miscellaneous shirts, sweaters and pants.
Some other odds and ends, I can't remember them all.

Then as a present to ourselves, my girlfriend and I bought ourselves a
panasonic plasma tv. it's dead sexy.
