Do you remember THIS ROOM?
Sure ya do! :-D
What would this look like rendered with POV-Ray? C'mon, I wanna see what
the experts can do using a true ray tracing system, as opposed to a 1998
realtime scanline renderer.
(Note the cute bilinear filtering, and the silly "flat" pipework grebles
drawn on the floor. And no curved lines or AA. Also, the streaks in the
yellow beams are a rendering artifact.)

Yep, that's where it all begins. Just trying to place the sample into the chamber and
FPWZZZZT!!!
Way to go Freeman.

Have you seen what Black Mesa has done with the test chamber?

Check out their other media too.

Their work is really nice, but I wonder how many people will still care when they
finally come out
with the finished mod?

Ah, yes...it's been a LONG time since I played that game, but it looked
familiar.

BTW, are you going to give it a shot?

Technically far superior. But... well, it looks more "industrial" than
"scientific" now. Like, before it was this shiny mad-scientest doom
machine. And now it's a run-down industrial *tool*...

Indeed. I love the idea, but... hmm... they make all the levels look too
"ordinary" and not far-out enough. Everything looks kind of boring.

Wow. It's like watching a remake of an old classic movie with young
actors in it.
I saw somewhere a preview/trailer for a remake of Thief using the DOOM3
engine, which could be pretty cool, but I don't remember where I saw it
advertised.
