That's a fact. I still have no comments (no, that's not a hint), but so far
over 150 views, 26 today, best ever.

For my website, I have various graphical analysis tools. However, for my
*blog*, I have nothing. There is no way to tell if I've had even one
single visitor. No logs available.

Actually, after some digging around, it seems I *can* get some stats.
Now, if there were some way to figure out what percentage of that
activity is *me*...
(I notice after tha 18th, the activity level shot up to about 800 page
views per day. But I don't know how many of those were me checking and
editing my psots...)

Interesting. I'm using WP, but it doesn't offer me any stats. (The stats
I showed are from 1&1's own stats panel. I think I saw somewhere that
it's powered by Webalyser, but I might be wrong...)

These are offered by wordpress.com. If the blog is hosted elsewhere using
the wordpress engine, no fancy stats.

Nice thing about the wordpress stats, they don't include my visits to the
blog.

I seem to get the majority from search engines (16 vs 2 from flipC), but
then, the only external link that I know of, other than from other wordpress
pages, is on FlipC's site

That's one of the things I like about Wordpress.com - you get some pretty
decent stats on stuff like that.

I use Lynx and ELinks frequently. Best way to read certain sites.
But it wasn't me, as I don't have a clue what your blog's URL is. Most
likely you posted it on a thread that I killed, so it never showed up on
my side.

Does prove that the 51% XP isn't just me clicking on my own link and

I am... I was choosen as guinea-pig for testing future computer
configuration at work. Vista's not bad, really. _I_ see no compelling
reason for the switch from XP but I think MS must have made a really
good offer to the people who decided that.

Yes.
You need an advanced understanding of high-energy physics, free access to
the Large Hadron Collider in Geneva, a blender, 10 litres of blood from the
largest virgin girl you can find. Spray the blood on your keyboard, blend
the bloodied thing into a very fine powder, sent it to the LHC, wait for the
results, spend a year analyzing them, and voilà!, a signature with your blog
address should appear in all your posts.
One thing: make sure that the girl is a virgin, just asking politely by
email isn't enough. And yes, that's the really hard part, which explains why
nobody have web addresses in their sigs. It's never been done in fact.
Never.

Since you produce more or less the "Lord of The Rings" trilogy every day
(quantitatively speaking), you can't force people to datamine p.off-topic to
unearth it. Make life easier for them.

I thought that as well today - unfortunately, though, if you don't force
people to register, you end up having to wade through pages of comment
spam and vandalism.

Precisely. Wordpress has an Akismet plugin, which I believe comes with
Wordpress by default (if not, one can always install it). Since I
installed it, I think only one spam comment got through and it prevented
200 others.

I read somewhere about using it on other blogs, not hosted at wordpress.com.
Can't remember the link, but shouldn't be hard to search for. Something
about registering at wordpress, but just creating an account, not a blog
then using that.

I don't have that option. I can't do anything to WP; it's just *there*,
and I can use it if I want. I can't modify anything. (Can't even install
new themes...)
I do, however, have some sort of hash-cash based JS plugin that's meant
to blog bots. (Won't stop humans though.)

Well, for sure it works on any Wordpress blog, even if not hosted on
Wordpress.com. Pity he can't enable it with his host...

Too bad I can't find a good spam protection system for PHP Fusion :(

reports that spammers have mastered it)
