UV-mapping applies to texture, at the interface between the inside and
outside of a shape.
Media applies to the volume delimited by that interface. It's unrelated
to UV-mapping.
Glass is rather an interior, so also unrelated to UV-mapping too. (yet
the transparency of the interface between inside and outside can be a
pattern using UV-mapping)
