i've just started working with povray and don't know how to make a hole into
a box

I need a box 1000x1000x25
 with an round hole in middle with diameter of 144

would be very glad sb. could help me

difference
{ box { -<1000, 1000, 25>/2, <1000, 1000, 25>/2 }

For such operations on objects, have a look at the doc section 3.4.6...

Ok I just posted and deleted two crap messages.
What I wanted to say is that warp forgot the radius
of the cylinder which is 144/2. So it should read

difference
{ box { -<1000, 1000, 25>/2, <1000, 1000, 25>/2 }
   cylinder { <0, 0, -25.1/2>, <0, 0, 25.1/2>, 144/2 }
   pigment { rgb 1 }
}
