The download page for the 3.7 POV-Ray version 10 states that the EXE has
expired. Does this mean I won't be able to run it if I download it? Thanks
for any help with this one. Dan

It appears not. I just downloaded the beta and tested it and Im getting an
'expired' message when I run the exe's. and I so need that damn symmetric
multiprocessing right about now.
So what on earth is going on? Why have a beta expire at all? And if you do
have a beta that expires, why is it still available for download? this
doesn't make sense to me, someone please explain it.
Is there any way of getting hold of a working version elsewhere?
thanks for your time.

No, read the beta group, not povray.newsusers please.

Please be patient. The developers are overworked (probably also with
other things besides POV-Ray) and deadlines are sometimes not met. It's
sometimes just not possible to even publish some kind of "current" version
of the beta because it may be currently inoperative due to incomplete
changes being done.
While it probably would be nicer to put a "sorry, not available at this
time, check in a couple of days" message to the download page, please
understand the pressure the developers are going through.

Thanks Warp and all,
I'll just wait until the new update arrives. I was just curious more than
anything. I've got a dual core processor now, and am interested in
utilizing more of this system's capabilities. I am of the understanding that
the 3.7 version incorporates changes that take advantage of dual core.
Thanks again. Dan
