Hello,

I have POV-Ray 3.6 and Moray 3.5 under Win XP. I cannot get Moray to
raytrace in POV. I create and save a scene in Moray, can Render, Render to
get view it, but when I select Render, Raytrace (or F9) it opens two
windows (minimized) named "POV-Ray" and "POV-Ray C:Program FilesPOV-Ray for
windows v3.6scenesobjectschmesh.pov", and then there is no response, no
error messages, Task Manager shows them Not Responding.

POV-Ray works fine otherwise (will raytrace the sample scenes), and Moray
works fine as far as creating and editing scenes, and will also sucessfully
do the Render, Render operation.

What should I try?

This question belongs to the moray.win group :-)
It looks like there is a GUI problem between Moray and POV 3.6 ( and MegaPOV
1.1 as well)
My workaround is to export .pov file (Ctrl-F9) and run the .ini file
directly in POV 3.6

Switch to POV-ray 3.5
The current version of Moray (3.5 build 9330) is designed for POV-ray 3.5
Or use Marc's suggestion.

Thank you to Marc and Stephen for the replies.

Yes, I will post any future Moray-related POV questions in the moray.win
group. I posted it here because I did not know if the problem was with
Moray or with POV-Ray. Since then I have been able to solve some of the
problem by simply making sure that POV-Ray is running *before* I start
Moray. That eliminated the lock-up of POV-Ray. POV-Ray would then
successfully raytrace the Moray file, although it would it would not
automatically display the results. I had to find the file using Windows
Explorer, and then open it. Not too much of a problem. I don't know if it
is supposed to work that way, or if it should automatically display the
completed raytraced file in POV-Ray.

Onward...

this is set in Configuration dial box ( Alt+O) Interface tab, check
"Raytrace to openGL backdrop"

The output image should be in the same directory than POV files. It is set
in Render Options
