Hi,
your question is a bit unspecific, but i'll try to help you :-).
To use the sinus function, simply use sin(angle), make sure your angle in in
radians.
see section [6.1.3.6 Float Functions] in the help files (which are very
helpfull, and very good).
If this is not what you meant, try to make you question clearer.
Greetings,
JWV

Ok, thank you very much to replay my question. I want to do an image like
this, and I think the undulations are a sinus function. What do you think?

I think you should read the posting guidelines in povray.announce.f-a-q.
concerning binary attachments.
Apart from that you can use the sin() function just like JWV explained.

Ok, thank you very much. I'll read it and I'll do that JWV said. If I have
more problems I will tell you.

Well, given you are reading all this in a newsgroups called povray.newusers,
it makes a lot of sense to assume povray.announce.f-a-q happens to be a
newsgroup as well. So you may want to check your group list in your news
reader and not the website.
Hint: The group you are looking for is actually called
povray.announce.frequently-asked-questions , but who would want to type all
that ;-)
