Hi,

First, please excuse my approximative english (I'm French).

I have used POV-Ray for a few weeks, and I'm trying to generate some plants 
and trees (thanks to L-Systems theory). For the moment, I manage to produce 
basic renders : http://oxonium.free.fr/pov-lsystems/
So I'd like to improve the realism by choosing good textures for the wood 
and the leafs. I read some tutorials and I tested some textures but it 
wasn't really convincing.

I'd be glad someone could give me some pieces of advice, or tutorials about 
plants and POV-Ray.

Approximate? Very good.

I'm really not the one to try and help, except I think you have a good start 
on trees/plants there and you will probably need to move from something 
other than basic primitives and pigments if you actually want realism. 
Although, a lot of faked realism can still be accomplished if you apply the 
textures right, like using image_map or a very convincing color_map.

Since there has been other tree or plant generating things done before, you 
might want to take a look at those. Here's a few:

Since I hardly ever say "you're welcome" or make other final word replies 
back to people, well, thought I'd do so this time. Besides, the trees and 
plants for POV is always interesting stuff and I hadn't looked around at 
what people have done for a couple years.
