I'd like to blend 2 normals.

for example I do :

normal {brick}
normal {dents}

and I hope to have a mixture of both. It doesn't work. More, if I switch
both, I don't obtain the same result (!)
I switched with functions :

#declare n1=function{pattern{bumps}}
#declare n2=function{pattern{dents}}
#declare NORM=function{n1(x,y,z)+n2(x,y,z)}

object {myobject normal{NORM}}

and it doesn't work... More, if I switch n1 and n2 in the NORM function, I
don't obtain the same result.
I'm lost. What's wrong with my idea ?

Read "2.3.4.2.2 Blending Normals" in the manual. It states here that this
doesn't give the expected results.
To blend or add normals together, use the average function with normal_map.
