...to all who answered my questions. This newsgroup seems very newbie 
friendly unlike some of the other "newbie" newsgroups I have encountered.

I am sure I will have more questions in my quest to understand the 
wonders of computer graphics through povray and I hope you will have the 
patience to answer them.
