Yes. Its a damn rip-off IMHO. Noone is going to pay that for so specialised a
model unless they are either wealthy or plan to make a *lot* of images with
dragons in them - perhaps some Anne McCaffrey fan. No wonder virtually every
Zygote model has been made readily available for free download by those who
object to this pricing.
I do understand that a lot of effort goes into making these models, but I see so
many free or very cheap items/software being made by devotees, that I object to
seeing this kind of pricing by Zygote.

Hi,

just use 3DWin V4.x from http://www.stmuc.com/thbaier/.
There is also a FAQ including info on the PosertoPov problem.

A Rune S. Johansen modelled a very nice dragon entirely in pov, and I've
been studying it and making a few modifications to it. I can't remember his
site but I'm going to send it back to him when I'm done.
I know thats not exactly what you were looking for.

Thanks Kane and Ken!

I knew that one. But, even if I doubt that I can really do it better, it
does not convince me. Uh, when speaking of dragons it is quite difficult to
say "it does not look real to me", is it :-). But perhaps your modifications
cured that? I sure would be glad to see them.

Marc,

I agree that 3DWin is probably the best (most professional) solution to Poser-to
-POV conversions. It has a nice windows interface with check boxes etc. It appears
to import smoothly with the individual parts labelled and it supports Moray well.
The only thing is that in order to import the UV data and material maps you need the
registered version. Without these features it becomes much less attractive. 35
euros for registration is a fair price, but its possible to get the same results
with freeware like Pose2POv and ObjuvPOV with a lot less convenience. Not having 35
euros to spare, I haven't tested the material import features, but the
non-registered version does what it does very nicely.
