I know where I can get POVRay... I have heard about UVPOV... where can I get
it (Ken's links I assume) ... and what exactly is UVPOV?

UVPov is a patched version with Photon Mapping(real caustics!);
UV-mapping, which gives you a useful way of mapping textures to objects;

image pattern, which allows you to use any bitmap as a pattern;
solid triangle meshes which can be used in CSGs, and a couple other
features.

Also, this will apparently be incorporated into the Superpatch in the
next version.

The super patch is an effort by Ron Parker to combine as many of the
individual patches that exist into one "super patched" version of
POV-Ray.

Cool. My patch is in the VFAQ now. :-) Makes me feel so warm and fuzzy
inside.  :-)

I think I'll stick with the standard and official POVray and improve my
skills there before jumping to higher grounds.

  It has been for quite long time.
  This means that you have never read the contents of the VFAQ. Shame on
you! ;)
