I've just posted one of my first little projects with POVRay.  I'm a
newuser to POVRay looking forward to what I can achieve with this
type of software as an artist.  As of now, I'm just learning my way
around with 3D software.  So nothing yet that represents my style of
art.  But I see a lot of potential for the future with POVRay and
other 3D related software.

Looks good. I've only been using pov since November so I haven't
tackled height fields much yet.
If you haven't already been there, here's a link to Chris Colefax's
site:
http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Lakes/1434/
Check out the Galaxy.inc, with it you can improve the star field in your
image.
