Well, may as well jump in here. Sorry if this has been discussed but,
does anyone know of a convertor for POV2RWX? I am using Active Worlds
and it would really help. There is a commercial convertor available but
I am looking "free", at least for the trial.

There is a similar sort of question in the pov general group
by Remco de Korte. Have a look.
The fact is, exporting objects from POV to RWX would mean
conversion to mesh format... well, not really 'mesh' since
renderware uses separate triangles (and quads and polygons
but these won't be made with any conversion tool I know of).
I have to warn you about converting, though. Active Worlds
doesn't really support renderware files with more than 64
vertices. As soon as a file exceeds that number, a sort of
bounding box is inserted (the yellow frame around objects
you're moving around). That means that you can bump into
invisible walls. If you use even more vertices, AW gives up:
you can walk through the objects.
If you want examples of this, have a look inside the Edu_Hml
world. There are several buildings there that were made with
3D Studio Max, but are far too complicated (large) for AW.
Result: you can't walk up the stairs... you walk *through*
the stairs.
Let me know if you find anything. I'd be interested as well.
Julius
