Xavier Caruso, a French mathematician of the Centre National de Recherche
Scientifique (scenario) and Jos Leys (images and animations) just finished an
instructional film about refraction in water.

the film explains three familiar effects of refraction : why do things in an
aquarium look bigger, why does a straw seem to break in a glass of water, and
why does the opposite end of a pool always seem the shallowest?

We currently only have French language commentary for the film.

Watch it online here : http://www.josleys.com/refraction

The film is distributed under a Creative Commons license, so feel free to copy,
but there should be no commercial use, and the authors should be credited.

It's quite cool to see POV-Ray used for such didactic purposes.

Although it would have been nicer if a bit more work would have been put
into the textures.
