Greetings!
I was just wondering when I might anticipate a replacement for PovRay
Mac 3.51 RC1 -- I need to use it for a class project (I wish to do a CG
flyby of Europa for my digital video class).
Also I was wondering if someone could explain to me why it would be
benficial to have this beta die on a set date, as there appears to be no
automatically appearing replacement.
Thanks in advance for any assistance!
Best Regards,

Use the final 3.5 and run it in Classic.

Such that ancient beta versions are not used forever and users don't report
bugs for ancient beta versions because they did not grasp the fact that one
should check for updates of a beta version more than once a decade (really,
there are people like this!). As the same people usually tend not even to
state the version they are using when reporting bugs, or they even state the
wrong version, this had been a huge waste of time in the past and since
POV-Ray 3.0 all betas expire.
As far as a new beta is concerned, the website does not promise there would
be a new one once the old one expires - it did for previous betas, but you
can guess why it was removed...
