I've been reading much about these subjects, yet I haven't found
anything directly relevant to the POV-Ray apple platform.  Does somethng
like this exists like a macro, or utility, etc...  Any reply is greatly
appreciated

Photon mapping is a feature of the UVPov patched version of POV. I had
started a Mac version of this, but ran into some trouble(possibly with
different versions with in the Mac specific part and the cross platform
part), and have been too busy working on my own patched version to get
it working again.
