I'm using POV-Ray for the Mac to create QT movies, using the built in
setting ot output to a QT Movie, and only Macintoshes can read the file.
I noticed that it had been set to JPEG A compression and I was wondering
if that was preventing Windows using QT3 from reading the file? I'm
experimenting with other compression options but I was wondering if
anyone else already had?

I can't find anything in the docs about it, either.

The files are standard QuickTime movies generated by QuickTime with its
default settings for platform compatiblity. All you need to do to get data
fork only movies (those that play on e.g. Windows) is to open the movie in
the movie player and save it as flat movie (please see the Movie Player docs
on how to do so).

thanks, With POV-Ray 3 I had to use Moover to make the movies and those seemed
to work fine. Flattening them works just fine, despite what Ken might think ; )
